Angi Alvarez is a Certified Group Fitness Instructor ,and a passionate dance instructor from Vancouver, Canada 🇨🇦 with roots in Brazil 🇧🇷 and a love for Cuban Salsa 🇨🇺.
Angi’s dancing journey began with a passion for salsa dancing , in 2003, soon after she had moved to Canada . Angi had greatly contributed to the local Latin community by performing and co-instructing for local Salsa School. In 2007, her love for Cuban Salsa blossomed, and she honed her skills under the guidance of renowned international Cuban dance artists. As the proud owner and founder of Timba Cubana Dance School, Angi brings over 17 years of experience as a certified Group Fitness instructor to her teaching practice. With a deep commitment to her students' growth and success, Angi is dedicated to sharing her love for dance and helping individuals achieve their goals, one step at a time. DJ ELEGUA
Gabriel Alvarez, also known as DJ Elegua, is one of Vancouver’s hidden secret. Born and raised in Cuba, DJ Elegua brings his passion for music and dance ,that was cultivated early one in his life. He had gained experience on how to “work-the- crowd” through years of working as an entertainer and performer at a resort in Cuba.
His passion for Cuban Salsa dancing is seen through his many years of dancing for a local Cuban Salsa team in Vancouver , Estilo Cubano.
His outgoing personality, experience, and passion combined allowed him to stand out from many other DJs in the Lower Mailand Area. He soon gained a crowd of enthusiastic followers for his charisma, good music and professionalism
DJ Elegua has a natural ability to adapt to different environments. His passion for music has helped him expand his collection of genres, including, but not limited to, Salsa, Timba , Merengue, Bachata, Cumbia, Reggaeton,Top 40, Pop, R&B, Oldies, Dancehall, Reggae, Soca, and much more. He has worked in major events in the lower Mainland, such as the VancitySBK International Festival , Carnaval del Sol, Summer Latin Cruises and others.
